Vinaconex Plans US$2Bln Urban Zone in Ha Tay
The Vietnam Construction Import-Export Corporation (Vinaconex) under the Ministry of Construction plans in the second quarter of 2006 to kick off a project worth of US$2 billion to build an urban zone in An Khanh in northern Ha Tay province, which is 15 km from the center of Hanoi.
The urban zone is set to be the largest in the north of Vietnam.
Consultants from Australia, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore have made efforts to give the best design for the zone, which is not similar to any existing urban zones in Hanoi a present.
The An Khanh urban zone will be built on an area of 264ha. The focus for the whole zone will be a 70-stoery twin tower with modern architecture. The multifunctional tower will have offices, international trade transaction and service centers, and luxury tenements. Around the tower will be more than 100 buildings with between 15 and 25 stories.
Currently, many foreign and domestic economic groups have taken part in the project, which is scheduled to be completed in 2012.
Besides the Vinaconex’s project, Song Da Corp, one of the national leading construction corporations, is also building a large-scale urban area in the site.
