Vietnam-Center GmbH, a company owned by Vietnamese businessmen in Germany, has just put into operation the Frankfurt-based trade promotion center, the largest of its kind in Europe, the company’s top official said on July 5.
According to Tran Xuan Hoa, the general director, the center, located right in the center of the Dreieich commercial quarter in Frankfurt Main, covers an area of 25.000 square meters with two buildings.
The establishment aims to facilitate domestic enterprises to market and distribute their export products into the German market in particular and the European market in general, besides assisting local firms to promote trade activities, introduce Vietnam’s potential exports and expand businesses in cooperation with the EU partners; thereby attracting more foreign investors back to the country, Hoa noted.
The center, which is about ten minutes drive from Frankfurt International Airport, has attracted around 35 enterprises, occupying 7,000 square meters of the center right after its opening.
Over 1,000 square meters reportedly is being used for displaying Vietnamese handicrafts.
Previously, a seminar to introduce the center was held in Hanoi with the participation of local investment operators and representatives from twenty-two cities of Frankfurt Rhein Main, one of Germany leading financial and trade centers.
In related news, Germany is now Vietnam's biggest trade and investment partner in the EU. The two countries posted two-way trade turnover of $1.75 billion in 2005, of which Vietnam’s exports was $1.1 billion, and estimated to continue to increase in the upcoming time.
