Vietnamese Catfish Enters Danish Market
The Denmark-based Espersen Company has signed deals to import tra catfish from Vietnam, said director of the company, Per Hansen.
The director, however, refused to reveal any detail information related to the consignment but asserted that the company will boost up trading of Vietnamese tra and basa catfish in the coming time.
Tra and basa catfish products originated from Vietnam are now being widely favored in Denmark thanks to its high quality and reasonable prices, he said. The Espersen Company is listed as one of the leading seafood processors and traders in Denmark with a chain of supermarkets throughout the European Union and the US.
Catfish, which sparked heavy duties in the US after it was allegedly dumped by the processors, currently is one of major export staples for Vietnam with Russia being the largest importer at 15.6 per cent of the total Vietnamese tra and basa catfish shipment.
