According to Mr. Bui Duy Duc, Director of Vissan Limited Company, Vissan’s meat sales rose 30-40 per cent in recent times. Each day, Vissan supplies 130 tonnes of hygienic pork, or 2,500 pigs. At present, Vissan has plans to buy new equipment to raise production capacity and expand its retail outlet system. In the coming months, Vissan will open series of stores with 15 types of products on shelves. Vissan reported total revenues if VND1,030 billion (US$63 million) in the first half of 2006, an on-year increase of 21 per cent. The company made a profit of VND18.5 billion (US$1.15 million) and paid VND33 billion (US$2 million to the State Budget in the six-month period.
