Ha Tay Licenses Largest Investment Project
Ha Tay province, neighboring Hanoi, on December 14 granted investment license for a US$300 million plant by Meiko Viet Nam Electronics Ltd. Com, the largest so far in the locality.
The plant located in Phung Xa Industrial Complex in Thach That district is designed to make printed circuit boards (PCB) and assemble electronic components on PCBs, in addition to finishing electronic appliances.
The plant is expected to generate jobs for nearly 7,000 laborers, and produce annual revenue of US$1.67 billion, hoping to make a breakthrough in the manufacturing of hi-tech products in the province.
Ha Tay has since the beginning of the year welcomed 19 projects worth US$800 million, up three times on-year in number of projects, and total capital increasing 1.38 times over the registered amount of the 1990-2005 period, said the provincial People’s Committee Chairman, Nguyen Xuan Cuong.
He noted that the province would maximize assistance to investors via upgrading infrastructure, applying incentive policies as well as resolving complications which might hinder investors’ activities.
