Vinacomin to Tap Metal Ores in Cambodia

The Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin), the country’s top miner, will team up with two Cambodian companies to explore and exploit metal ores in Stung Streng province of Cambodia, state media reported Tuesday.
 
Vinacomin and Mom Good Luck Mining Co. Ltd and Try Pheap Mining Co. Ltd signed a deal July 2 to explore the reserve of metal ores in Thalabori Vat, Anlong Chey, Anlong Phe in the province.
 
The two sides are scheduled to jointly explore metal ores within the next 24 months before working out a feasibility study for mining activities.
 
Cambodian Minister of Industry-Mining and Energy Sui Seng and Minister Counselor of the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia Nguyen Van Doan witnessed the signing ceremony.
