Bach Dang Shipyard Hands over 22,500-DWT Ship

Bach Dang Shipbuilding Industry Company, an affiliate of the state-run Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group, has recently handed over a 22,500-DWT cargo vessel to the Vietnam National Shipping Lines, the country’s largest shipping firm.
 
The VTC Dragon, measured at 153.2 meters length, 26 meters width, is powered 6,230-KW Japanese-made engine to reach 14.5 nautical miles per hour.
 
The ship is designed by Vinakita Co., a joint venture between Vietnam’s Vinashin and Japan’s Kitada, and is supervised by Vietnamese and Japanese registration agencies.
 
After the launch of the VTC Dragon, Bach Dang Shipyard will build another 22,500-DWT ship, the fifth of a series of 32 ships for Vinalines. It delivered a 13,500-ton oil tanker to the Vinashin Ocean Shipping Company, the biggest of its kind to be built in Vietnam in December 2006.
