Dinh Vu Oil Refinery to Raise Capacity to 3 Million Tons
The capacity of planned Dinh Vu oil refinery will be scaled up to three million tons per annum instead of one million as said earlier, announced Mr. Vu Duong Hien, CEO cum general director of Hapaco Joint Stock Company, the project’s investor.
Hapaco will invest to build an oil-fueled power plant with a capacity of 100 MW, and an asphalt plant with an annual capacity of 100,000 tons, Hien attributed.
Evagor Company of Germany has clinched a deal with Hapaco to finance 85 per cent of project’s total investment worth $150 million.
The project is now still under preparation and the time for the start has not yet been made available.
Vietnam now has no oil refineries. The country’s first Dung Quat is underway in central Quang Ngai province with the completion in February 2009. (Investment)
