The more than 1,000 graduates currently pursuing their studies in prestigious universities in the United States of America affirm the great success of the American Pacific University (APU) Educational Organization, which includes APU International Schools. The success of APU in Vietnam reinforces the fact that the educational model of international cooperation and partnership is extremely effective.

APU has been verified and approved by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam to provide a US curriculum in Vietnam since 2004 for both foreign and Vietnamese students. This American curriculum has helped APU students to progress at a remarkable pace. Dr Tran Nguyen Thy Binh, CEO of APU Educational Organization, reveals, &ldquoAPU&rsquos teaching and training methods are based on some of the most modern and advanced methods in the world. We provide students with an atmosphere conducive to exploring and learning, shorten the amount of time required for program completion, and, very importantly, save our students thousands of dollars in university tuition fees. For Vietnamese students, essential Vietnamese courses as required by the Ministry of Training and Education of Vietnam are already a part of an APU student&rsquos complete curriculum. These important courses include Vietnamese Literature, Vietnamese History and Vietnamese Geography.&rdquo

APU is very proud of its most recent 50 high school graduates who in early June 2008 received their diplomas in the presence of their teachers, families, and fris at their graduation ceremony. Scholarships totalling USD1,000,000 in value were awarded at the ceremony. &ldquoAt APU, we think first of the interests of our students. We are in constant contact with prestigious universities in the US to actively seek out scholarship opportunities for our students. Our hope is that APU students are offered the most favourable opportunities and conditions to study at famous universities in the US and are fully supported in their studies,&rdquo added Dr Binh.

APU&rsquos valedictorian for the 2007-08 school year is Ngo Sophia. She felt honoured and was ecstatic to have received a full scholarship from Roger Williams University in the US. The scholarship is valued at USD161,000. In addition, Ngo Sophia was awarded another scholarship, valued at USD20,000, from Portland State University. Ms Ngo Sophia confided, &ldquoI chose APU because I believed that APU would be the best path &ndash the gateway &ndash to prestigious American universities for me. And today, my dream for the past two years has come true. From the international environment of APU where I was encouraged to experiment, to think critically, and to be creative, I have learned a lot of educational and life principles and have gained a great deal of practical experience. The knowledge and wisdom of my teachers as well as the joyful and relaxing moments with my APU fris are things that I will always cherish in my heart. I am proud of being an APU graduate.&rdquo Ngo Sophia also added, &ldquoI am grateful to Dr Tran Nguyen Thy Binh, the founder of the APU organization, to have put me on the right path, supported me along the way, and helped me to achieve success in my future. My dream is to become a pharmacist in order to find a treatment for Agent Orange victims. If given the chance, I would like to work with Dr Binh to build more schools in Vietnam so that many other Vietnamese students will have an opportunity to get an outstanding education.&rdquo

Mai Gia Luat, valedictorian of APU IHS for the 2006-2007 school year and a &ldquotop of the class&rdquo student at Roger Williams University (USA) shared his sentiments, &ldquoI am especially grateful to Dr Tran Nguyen Thy Binh for founding APU, a place where my spirit was nurtured and allowed to soar. This kind of support helped me to achieve the great success that I&rsquom enjoying today. I couldn&rsquot have done it without APU&rsquos knowledgeable and dedicated teachers and its modern American teaching methods. I was also given opportunities to put in practice what I have learned from my teachers and my books. Practical experience is very important in learning.&rdquo

&ldquoAPU has always been beside me every step of the way. Even now when I&rsquom studying in the US, APU is still cares about my progress and success. APU teachers and administrators were always ready to help me and to favourable conditions for me to progress,&rdquo Mai Gia Luat continued. Upon reflection, Mr Luat expressed his feelings for APU, &ldquoIt was an honour to have been a part of the APU organization. I&rsquom just so grateful to have been given the opportunity to do my best and excel. My APU education was the most solid basis on which to pursue higher education anywhere in the world and to make my dreams come true.&rdquo

The APU Educational Organization is not resting on all of its achievements so far. More APU educational projects in Vietnam are being implemented, including two schools in Da Lat City (license issued) and the APU University village in Hoc Mon District. Dr Binh re-emphasized her objective, &ldquoI hope to make as many contributions as I can to the development of the education sector in Vietnam. My work has been and will continue to be to respond to the Vietnamese government&rsquos policy of calling Overseas Vietnamese to come back home to contribute to Vietnam&rsquos remarkable development. I am proud of being Vietnamese. All that I have been doing is helping Vietnamese students to doors &ndash through the gateway of APU &ndash to the world&rsquos most advanced educational tem. I hope to continue to receive the full cooperation and support of all of Vietnam&rsquos state, city, and district departments and governing bodies.&rdquo
