Vietnam Leading Brokerage Buys Back 1.25 Mln Shares

Saigon Securities Incorporation (SSI), the leading broker in Vietnam, announced that it finished the buyback of 1.25 million shares as part of its effort to support its stock price in the market.
 
The purchase was done from December 18, to February 11.
 
After the transaction, the securities firm will have three million treasury shares in total, it said on its website.
 
Foreign investors have sold a large amount of SSI shares in recent trading sessions, apart from Kinh Do Corp. (KDC) and North Kinh Do Co. (NKD).
 
SSI shares closed down 5 per cent at VND22,400 on 374,920 shares traded on February 23.
 
The Hanoi Securities Trading Center said SSI accounted for the largest stock trading market share, 6.94 per cent, and the third largest bond trading market share, 11.81 per cent, in the northern bourse in 2008. (Securities Investment)
