Vu Anh International Hotel Hospital was built following the modern model of “Hotel - Hospital” with the missions of taking care of the community’s health with the best services and consolidating customer confidence with its experienced staff and caring physicians. All of the staffs have been well trained with communication skills and customer-care service by international-hotel specialists. Vietnam Business Forum reporter has been granted an exclusive talk with Doctor Truong Thi Tuyet Nga, the founder of the hospital, on her concerns and desires in her business and daily life activities.
Would you mind talking about your life and childhood?
I was born in my mother’s hometown - Son Tay (the western part of Hanoi) where it is famous for Ba Vi Mountain, the Da River, Lac Long Quan - Au Co legend (the parent of Vietnamese people) and Ha Dong silk. Like my mother’s hometown, my father’s hometown - Can Tho city, the largest in the Mekong Delta, is famous for its sacred land and heroic people. After the national reunification in 1975, my mother and I followed my father to the south. This was a chance for me to develop my education. The turning point of my life took place in 1982 when I started my career as a technician for Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy. After 10 years of the uninterrupted effort and devotion, I was sent to work at the Paediatric Hospital 2. During this period in my life, I accumulated experience, medical ethics and competence.
After a period of time, I was sent back to Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy to continue my dream of becoming an excellent doctor. I graduated in 1999 but I already set up Vu Anh clinic in 1998 - the forerunner of the current Vu Anh International Hotel Hospital. In 2002, after more than 20 years of working in the health sector and accumulating experience, I desired to do something very meaningful for the community. My dream motivated me to build Vu Anh Hospital. In 2007, I officially inaugurated my hospital and it has been effectively operating up to now.
After one year of operation, Vu Anh Hospital reaped many successes. Could you share the secrets to your success?
One of the most important element leading to the current success of Vu Anh Hospital is our effort to build and sustain the consensus of our talented, devoted and hardworking doctors and employees. Such consensus enables us to weather all challenges and is a drive for us to advance our strength for future development.
Besides, we never stop learning and acquiring advanced medical knowledge. Vu Anh Hospital has been intensively and synchronically invested in from the start. The entire machinery and equipment systems have been imported from world-leading manufacturers in Europe, Japan and the United States. Our hospital now has five operating theatres in which one is equipped with the OR1 endoscopic operation system - an integrated surgical suite for minimally invasive surgery, the most modern and unique in Southeast Asia. Moreover, the imaging diagnosis department at Vu Anh Hospital was the first in Vietnam to be equipped with both MSCT 64 scanners and MRI 1.5T scanners in combination with Doppler colour ultrasound scanners for cardiovascular diagnosis. In addition, the mobile digitalised 3D ARCADIS Orbic X-ray machines (C – Arm 3D), the first to be seen in Vietnam, together with 4D Siemens Acuson X500 colour ultrasound scanner provide the most accurate diagnostic results. Vu Anh also owns modern equipment facilities such as Japanese-styled recovery rooms, artificial blood filtering system imported from Germany and an automatic diagnostic department. The world-class facilities have given a boost to the process of disease examination, diagnosis and treatment for patients. These have also proven extremely effective with women’s diseases. In parallel, we are also trying our best to cooperate with excellent doctors in Vietnam and in the world to expand our capacity. We have successfully invited a famous American doctor to work at Vu Anh Hospital to further our effectiveness in disease examination and treatment.
Personally, I think that morality is essential to success in all careers, works and activities. I was lucky enough to learn about medical ethics from top-notched professors at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy like Prof Nguyen Quang Quyen, Prof Nguyen Dinh Hoi and Prof Pham Gia Khanh. Their lectures on medical knowledge and medical practice have followed my life and have helped me obtain the current success.
As a successful and ethical businesswoman, can you share your concerns about the establishment and development history of Vu Anh Hospital?
Vu Anh Hospital was my great aspiration since I studied at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy and I have been imbued with medical ethics from my respectful professors. My desire burnt more strongly when I visited advanced hospitals in the US, Australia, Japan, South Korea and other nations and saw first-hand their state-of-the-art technology. At that time, I wondered why Vietnam could not do similarly because our working ability, enthusiasm and devotion were second to none. We do not need to wait longer for the best practices to come to Vietnam. Advanced medical technologies are already widely adopted to maximally relieve pains and give better healthcare. During our establishment and development history, Vu Anh Hospital has always considered public health as the groundwork for all our activities, and has ensured best service quality for patients thanks to wholehearted doctors, nurses and state-of-the-art equipment.
On this occasion, I would like to express our gratitude to the Party and the State to facilitate Vietnamese businesses in general and Vu Anh Hospital in particular to make impressive strides. We are proud to receive high-ranking officials of the Party and the State to visit our hospital such as the Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem, former Vice State President Truong My Hoa, Health Minister Nguyen Quoc Trieu, Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister Hoang Tuan Anh, Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Thi Xuyen and Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien.
Vu Anh Hospital is very proud to become the first hospital in Vietnam to be certified with five-stars by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).
