Vietnam's Economy Will Grow 5%-5.2% This Year: SBV Governor
Governor Nguyen Van Giau of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), the country’s central bank, has forecast that Vietnam’s economy will likely expand 5%-5.2% this year, thanks to government efforts to boost economic growth.
Giau made his forecast during his meeting with his counterpart of Sweden, Stefan Ingves, in Hanoi on Monday, August 17.
The domestic economy grew 3.9% in the first half of this year, thanks to the government-launched stimulus packages. During that time, the banking systems were operating stably and reaped impressive results, Giau noted.
At the meeting, Stefan Ingves exchanged experiences in monetary policies with Giau.
The government is mulling plans for the second demand-stimulus package, state media said. (SBV)
