Vietnam H1 Imports from India Fall by 39% to US$799.16M

Vietnam reportedly imported US$799.16 million worth of goods from India in the first half of this year, an on-year drop of 39%, the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s information center said.
 
During the period, Vietnam spent the most on buying animal feed and materials at a cost of US$250.968 million, representing 31.4% of the country’s total value of imports from India.
 
Vietnam’s other key imports from India included US$65.116 million worth of pharmaceutical products, US$58.19 million worth of iron and steel, US$42.366 million worth of machines, equipment and spare parts, US$23.34 million worth of metals, and 21 million worth of pesticides.
 
Trade between Vietnam and India reached nearly US$2.5 billion in 2008. (Vinanet)
