Vietnam Electric Cable Export Value Tumbles 32.75% to US$393.6M in Jan-July
Vietnam’s electric wire and cable export value fell 32.75% from a year earlier to US$393.6 million in the first seven months of this year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported on its website.
The Southeast Asian country exported US$73.5 million worth of the goods in July, down 12.1% from last July and down 4.6% from a month earlier, the ministry said.
In Jan-Jul, the country, meanwhile, spent US$209.4 million on importing the goods, the ministry said, giving no comparative figures.
Japan topped the list for spending US$277.4 million on importing Vietnamese electric wires and cables in the seven-month period, down 35.39% from a year earlier. In July, the country imported US$52.8 million worth of the Vietnamese goods, accounting for 77.9% of Vietnamese exports of this kind of goods.
Japan was followed by the U.S. and Hong Kong with import value of US$7.1 million and US$1.8 million worth of Vietnamese electric wires and cables in July, respectively, the ministry added. (Vinanet )
