Imported Milk Liquid Prices 46% Higher than Vietnam’s Products
Retail price of imported milk liquid is about 46% higher than that produced in Vietnam despite equal food safety standards and nutrition facts, according to the Vietnam Standards and Consumers Association (Vinastas).
The association said average retail price of a liter of imported milk liquid is VND32,000, while Vietnamese milk is selling for only VND22,000 per liter.
In the association’s report sent to the Ho Chi Minh City’s Health Service, the association said in Sept 2009 it tested 16 samples of milk liquid and almost all of them have protein content as announced on label. (Youth)
