Vietnam Post & Telecom Sees Revenue up 24.2% to VND60.5T in Jan-Sept
The General Statistics Office (GSO) estimates Vietnam’s post and telecommunication sector had revenue of VND60.5 trillion (US$3.4 billion) in the first nine months of this year, a rise of 24.2% from a year earlier.
Of the total figure, the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) made revenue of VND45.4 trillion, up 29.4% against the same period last year.
At end-Sept, Vietnam had 113.6 million phone subscribers, up 61.4% from a year earlier, including 17.6 million landline subscribers and 96 million mobile phone clients.
VNPT served 64 million phone subscribers by that time, up 57.6%, the GSO said.
The number of broadband internet users was estimated at 2.7 million, up 46.2%, including 1.8 million clients of VNPT.
VNPT is running MobiFone and Vinaphone, two largest mobile phone network operators in Vietnam. (VNA)
