65 Foreigners Licensed to Trade Vietnam Shares in Sept
Vietnam’s Securities Depository Center said on its website that it licensed 65 more foreign investors in Sept., including 12 institutions and 53 individuals to trade local stocks.
The new traders during the month raised the total number of foreign investors in Vietnam to 13,278, including 1,082 institutions and 12,196 individuals as of Oct. 1, the center said.
The monthly growth in the number of foreigners licensed to trade Vietnam shares was at 0.5%, compared to 3.2% in 2008, the Dau Tu Chung Khoan reported.
No figures on foreign holding value were released, however.
Vietnam’s stock market was named as the best performer in Asia in the third quarter, with its VN-Index rising 35.09%.
