Vietnam among Russia's Most Important Partners: New Ambassador
Vietnam is one of the Russian Federation’s most important partners, Russian newly-accredited ambassador Kovtun Andrey Grigorievich affirmed at a meeting with President Nguyen Minh Triet Oct 13.
Russia wishes to further strengthen and beef up bilateral relations with Vietnam to match their potentials.
President Triet noted the two countries would join hands to prepare well for significant events next year including a visit to Russia by Party Chief Nong Duc Manh, Vietnam visits by President Dmitry Medvedev and the Senate Speaker, the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties and a high-level Russia-ASEAN meeting.
On the same day, President Triet gave receptions to new ambassadors of Kuwait, Bangladesh, Panama, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, following their presentation of credentials. (VNA, Liberated Saigon, The People)
