Phu An Thanh IP Welcomes First New Year Company
On February 25, Asia Steel Joint Stock Company commenced construction on a steel plant at Phu An Thanh Industrial Park, Long An province.
The 2.5-ha mill, costing VND70 billion, is capable of turning out 60,000 tonnes of steel a year. The facility is expected to supply 20 - 30,000 tonnes of steel for automobile, civil and industrial production.
Mr Khong Manh Hung, General Director of Asia Steel, said: “We chose Phu An Thanh to locate our plant because it is very suitable for steelmakers, in addition to favourable traffic conditions for trading and transporting goods to key seaports in the south. Moreover, the Management Board of the Industrial Park helps our company to carry out the project.”
Phu An Thanh Industrial Park, situated in An Thanh commune, Ben Luc district, Long An province, has an area of 307 ha in the first phase. Companies in the industrial zone have a favourable traffic access to important economic hubs in southern Vietnam. It is only six kilometres from the National Road 1A and three kilometres from Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Highway, which just opened to traffic on February 3.
