Vietnam Pottery Exports Estimated at $316M in 2010: GSO
Vietnam is estimated to have earned $316 million from pottery exports this year, up 18.3% on year in value, the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO) said.
In Dec, the country fetched $35 million from pottery export activities, the GSO added.
The southern province of Binh Duong took the lead among localities in terms of export volume, making up nearly 80% of the country’s total.
Local experts said that Vietnam’s firms should boost pottery export to potential markets like Germany as the products now account for nearly 40% of pottery market share in the European country.
Currently, Vietnamese pottery items are showcasing in 40 big museums in the U.S., Japan, Canada, France, Germany, Sweden, Australia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Turkey, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines. (GSO)
