Vietnam Retail Sales, Services Revenue +24.5% in 2010: GSO

Vietnam’s total retail sales and services revenue is estimated to have soared 24.5% from a year earlier to VND1561.613 trillion ($80.08 billion) this year, the General Statistics Office said recently.
 
The revenue increased slightly to VND141.593 trillion in December from VND141.046 trillion in November, the GSO said in a statement.
 
The trade sector reported an on-year revenue increase of 25% to VND1229.266 trillion, equivalent to 79% of the country's sum during the year.
 
The hotel and restaurant sector saw an on-year revenue rise of 21.8% to VND172.365 trillion; and the tourism and service sectors reported increases of 28.5% and 23.8% to VND15.345 trillion and VND144.637 trillion on-year, respectively.
 
The government of Vietnam in mid-November forecast the country’s retail sales and services revenue will reach VND1510 trillion ($78 billion) in 2010, compared to last year’s figure of $67 billion. (GSO)
