Vietnam Apparel, Footwear Material Imports +36% in 2010: GSO

Vietnam is estimated to have spent $2.628 billion on importing apparel and footwear materials in 2010, rising 36% from a year earlier, the General Statistics Office said.
 
In December, the country imported $250 million worth of these products, rising from $246 million in the previous month, the office added.
 
The Ministry of Industry and Trade said that China was the largest supplier of apparel and footwear materials for Vietnam with a total import value of $307.7 million in the first half of this year
South Korea and Taiwan followed with $218.5 million and $209 million, respectively. (GSO)
