Vietnam to Create 1.6 Million Jobs in 2011
The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) said Vietnam plans to create jobs for 1.6 million people in 2011, including 1.513 million people in the country and 87,000 guest workers sent to foreign nations.
The unemployment rate in urban areas is 4.5 %, it said.
The proportion of labourers in the agricultural sector is 48 %, followed by the service sector with 30 % and the industry and construction sectors with 22 %.
The country will also improve workers’ spiritual and material life, and working conditions, while limiting workplace accidents, occupational diseases and labour disputes.
Vietnam strives to ensure that 96 % of households with contributions to the nation will have equal or better living standards at residing areas.
It will also build 7,000 new houses of gratitude (built for people with exceptional contributions to national liberation and revolution) and upgrade 57,000 existing ones.
The poverty rate will be reduced by 2 % according to new standards.
