“Family Happiness Is the Most Valuable Asset”

It is often said that circumstances form character and character makes destiny. As for Mrs Le Thi Anh Hong – Deputy Director of Tin Phat Automobile Joint Stock Company, with confidence, enthusiasm in work and great care for her family, she has attained significant success and happiness.

After finishing a Master course majoring English language, she worked as an instructor in Distance Education Centre – Hanoi Language University. She was always loved by her students for her enthusiasm and professional knowledge. She told me that at first she herself didn’t think about entering business. Since being involved in business, she has still wished to continue her teaching job. Teaching continues to be her favourite activity, helping her relax after the pressure of business work and housework. Therefore, busy as she is, she still teaches one class a week.

She entered the automobile business because of her husband, General Director of Tin Phat Automobile Joint Stock Company. Born into a poor family, with his best attempt, he gradually developed his business and Tin Phat Auto has now become a reputable enterprise in distributing imported automobiles. He said when starting to work in importing automobiles, he needed someone close enough to assist in his work and he thought that she, an English teacher, could help him in working with foreign partners. Wanting to share his work burden, she accepted, though she wasn’t trained in business.

Working and studying at the same time, as well as with her language capacity and her husband’s help, she began to gain the first achievements. In business, always she keeps in mind three criteria: first, building up and developing the company’s reputation with partners; second, ensuring partners and third, making employees feel secure so they devote their full capacity to their profession. However, also she says, “The human is the most important factor in success. Corporate development requires leaders and staff to have not only talent but also heart. Working enthusiastically with ‘heart’, no one will fail.” Keeping this in mind, she and her husband have developed policies to encourage staff to achieve their own success.

It is harder for women than men doing business, since they also have to take care of their family. Once she was so busy that she forgot to pick up her child at kindergarten. After that, she always reminds herself not to allow anything similar to happen again, as she clearly understands that no matter how successful a woman is in her business, she is not actually successful if her children don’t receive parents’ love and the family isn’t happy. Therefore, she always tries to manage her time for her business and housework.

According Mrs Le Thi Anh Hong, business and family are not separated, but assist and lean on each other. Family provides peace of mind, laying a firm foundation for her and her husband to develop the company more strongly.
