Bat Trang is famous for pottery industry - a profession passed from generation to generation to date and soaked into the flesh and blood of people here. Born with the burning passion for pottery and steely determination to enrich, he has brought Vietnamese earthenware to the world, with typical markets like Japan, the EU, India and the United States.
Continuous innovation and product diversification
Founded in 2007 with a few workers in Bat Trang pottery village, Hanoi, Manh Dan Ceramics Company has become a famous concern in Vietnam and in the world. The company now has nearly 200 skilled and experienced employees working at the company’s 6,000-square metre factories and 200-square metre showroom, and can mobilise hundreds from surrounding provinces to meet big deals from Vietnamese and foreign customers.
 
Seeing potentiality for exporting fine-arts ceramics, Manh Dan continuously renovates technologies like colour combination, glazing technology, heating technology and graphics, and diversifies interior and decorative products. The company also pays special attention to personnel training for balanced and sustained development. Understanding the importance of product diversification, Manh Dan established its own designer force and attends exhibitions, fairs and seminars to update market trends and demands. As a result, in spite of difficulties arising from the global economic crisis, its revenues in 2010 rose over 20 percent against 2009.
 
Putting quality on top
Born in a family in the downtown of Hanoi - relatively far from Bat Trang, Nguyen Manh Dan has however a burning passion for ceramics. From this infatuation and in-depth domestic and international market researches, he found out huge global demand for Vietnamese handicrafts and nourished a dream to set up a handicraft company. In 2007, Manh Dan Ceramics Company was set up on that basis. After nearly five years, business outcomes have proven the rightness of his thoughts and development strategies. Manh Dan Ceramics brand has established a solid foothold on the market as well as at the heart of consumers.
 
Director Nguyen Manh Dan said the today success and reputation are resulted from proper cares for quality. He knows that quality is important for both domestic and international customers and it is the foundation to build up the trust of customers. Manh Dan Ceramics Company not only distributes products across Vietnam but also exports to foreign nations like Japan, India, the European Union and the United States.
 
He said, to expand export markets, his company will focus on following works in the future: (1) teaming with other handicraft producers to cover a wider range of production, (2) intensifying product quality control to ensure uniformity, maintain quality, and get rid of defective products to ensure finery and safety, build up customer confidence; (3) collecting information from various sources to capture market demands and update legal provisions on import and export.
 
At the young age of 38, Nguyen Manh Dan is believed to bring Vietnamese ceramics to the world and lifting Manh Dan Ceramics Company to new highs of both quality and quantity.
