In nearly 30 years of construction and development, Song Be Rubber Co., Ltd has made endless efforts to move forward and assert its leadership on both domestic and international markets.
Establishing strong position
Song Be Rubber is perhaps a living example of overcoming difficulties by virtue of internal strengths and strategic steps. From a small business entity, Song Be Rubber has grown to be a trusted rubber exporter and formed prosperous economic areas in Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc provinces. The company now employs thousands of workers.
At present, Song Be Rubber owns five rubber plantations with a combined area of 14,605 ha, capable of turning out 7,500 tonnes of latex a year. Most of the company’s rubber plantations are in Binh Duong province (Ben Cat district and Binh Phuoc province (Chon Thanh, Bu Dop and Bu Dang districts).
Currently, Song Be Rubber’s product lines include SVR-3L, SVL 3L, SVL 10 and SVL 20 latex. SVR 3L latex is the main ingredient for automotive, motorcycle tyre and plastic industries. Apart from domestic sales, the company also exports its products to the EU and Asia (mainly China - 60 percent of the company’s exports). At the end of 2010, the company exploited latex on 1,855 ha.
To expand production and business activities and improve product quality, Song Be Rubber Company proactively applies advanced scientific and technological achievements to production, investing in a modern production line transferred by Malaysia-based GOLSTA Group. With an annual processing capacity of 7,500 tonnes of latex, this modern production line produces SVR 3L latex. In addition to processing latex, the company also outsources SVR 3L for customers inside and outside the province. In 2007 Song Be Rubber built another latex plant with annual processing capacity of 5,000 tonnes.
The company also built its own product quality control panel in accordance with TCVN 3769-2004 standards and applied ISO9001:2008 quality management system. With good quality, products of Song Be Rubber Company are trusted and appreciated by domestic and foreign customers. In 2010, the company attained a certificate for “meeting and improving customer satisfaction” from the AFNOR Organisation (EU). Annually, the company produces over 6,000 tonnes of rubber and annual output increases continuously. It earned revenues of VND277 billion in 2010, and VND451 billion in the first six months of 2011. Export revenues reached VND131 billion in 2009 and VND204 billion in 2010.
Mr Do Quoc Quyt, General Director, said: In the coming time, to boost economic efficiency, the company will expand growing areas, and exploit and process rubber for export. By 2015, the company aims to have 7,000 ha of rubber trees. Besides, the company will reduce raw product exports and look to produce finished rubber products. We will continue expanding our markets, not only in traditional markets like Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, France and Russia, but also find other potential ones. Together with developing core business of producing latex for export, Song Be Rubber Company will actively diversify its business operations and step into new potential businesses like construction investment, tourism, handicraft production, and husbandry.
In addition to stabilising and improving incomes for workers, the company fulfils all tax obligations to the State and exercises corporate social responsibility. Song Be Rubber Company was granted the Third, Second and First Grade Labour Orders (in 1995, 2003 and 2008). It also won the Vietnam WTO Integration Trademark in 2010, and Typical Business Gold Cup on the occasion of 1,000th Anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi in 2010.
