Clinker Import Tax Reduces to 15 per cent
The Vietnamese government has recently agreed to lower the import tax on clinker from ASEAN countries to 15 per cent from 20 per cent to help enterprises in the construction sector that have faced a clinker price hike of 20 per cent over the same period last year.
The tax rate will be gradually reduced to 10 per cent in 2005 and 5 per cent in 2006 subject to the Common Effective Preference Tariff Agreement (CEPT).
