Hung Long Private Enterprise, which started operation in October 2003, specialises in manufacturing and exporting coir threads for production of nets and bags. The company has created jobs for hundreds of local workers and effectively utilised local materials.

At present, Hung Long has five production units and is establishing a 3,500 square metre production facility, about 5 km from Mo Cay Town. The new facility is expected to start operations in three months. In addition to expanding production bases, the company also focuses on modernising machinery, equipment and technologies to enhance product quality and create the trust of customers. Notably, Hung Long pioneered to upgrade coir thread processing technologies to uplift product superiorities and reduce prices to expand sales in domestic and international markets. It applied advanced technologies to manufacture ropes from coconut coir and saplings feeding holders. These products have been exported to many countries like Japan, Canada and South Korea and highly appreciated by customers there. Compared with traditional methods, modern technology doubles productivity and reduces labour costs by two thirds.

Hung Long also takes care of employees. Apart from fulfilling statutory employment regulations, the company applies generous reward policies to encourage the devotion and loyalty of employees.

Director Mai Van Nhiem said his company expects supports from authorities and banks to live through current difficulties to stabilise and expand production. Then, the company will pay greater role in local economic development.
