Betrimex Attaching Manufacturing Activities with Social Security

Betrimex has three subsidiaries including Coconut Fibre Processing Joint Stock Company, BTCO, Mekong Vietnam Foodstuff Company, and two branches Mo Cay coconut Factory and Phu Hung Coconut Factory. Besides its key products such as coconut products, Betrimex has been exporting a wide range of agricultural products including rice, coffee, tea, pepper, fruits and export products processing.

 

By strongly investing in new technology and continuously improving product quality, Betrimex’s products win the trust of the world’s famous & picky markets such as Japan, Korea, the EU, USA, etc. At present, desiccated coconut high fat is one of Betrimex’s main products with a capacity 70 tonnes per day. This product has achieved ISO GMP – HACCP standards. With a right investment strategy, Betrimex has quickly affirmed its position in manufacturing, trading, importing & exporting in Vietnam in general and in Ben Tre Province in particular. By these, Betrimex is now one of the most prestigious coconut product exporting companies in Vietnam. Betrimex brand accompanied by high quality products is achieved international standards, controlling international markets and being a top choice of domestic and international customers. In many consecutive years, Betrimex has always achieved a stable growth speed, continuously improving living standards of employees. In addition, Betrimex has done a good job in paying taxes, making crucial contributions to the socio-economic development of the country as well as of the Ben Tre Province.

 

In the context of economic difficulties in 2011, Betrimex still achieved positive business results, surpassing its plan. The total turnover in 2011 enjoyed an increase of over 130 percent and a 100 percent increase in profit as its plan. According to Mr Tran Van Duc, General Director of Betrimex, these achieved impressive breakthroughs, especially in the period of economic difficulty, come from huge efforts in its innovation process, step by step restructuring trade & manufacturing activities, putting a focus on renewing business administration. In addition, it is also from flexible development strategy, keen response of management board as well as continuous efforts from employees, these contribute to improvement of internal strength and effectiveness of the company.

 

Regardless of bad impacts from economic crisis, Betrimex’s success continues to be upheld in the first months of 2012 when the company’s Board of Management and Board of Directors issue right policies and solutions to overcome difficult period, bringing into play available advantages of a multidisciplinary company. By doing this, Betrimex managed to achieve positive results in the first 5 months of 2012, the income of employees was also much improved.

 

Betrimex is not only well-known as a leading exporter of Ben Tre Province, with a philosophy of “attaching manufacturing activities with social security”, at initial time, the company has put a special attention to social welfare, it is considered as a specific cultural characteristic of Betrimex. Although its attention to social welfare is not as big as its wish, but with its responsibility, enthusiasm for community, especially for the poor, carried out in recent years, Betrimex has contributed to reduction of difficulties for the poor and unfortunate people through its activities such as paying back to community, supporting for schools and many other social activities. Betrimex has supported a mother of Vietnamese hero, building a house of gratitude, 63 houses of mercy, contributing to the fund of the poor, etc with a total expense of over VND2 billion.

 

Early 2012, facing with difficulties in exporting coconut products due to weak purchasing power, drop price affected incomes of coconut farmers. Responding to policy of stabilizing coconut price and supporting farmers of Ben Tre People’s Committee, Betrimex has supported farmers by purchasing products with a higher price than that of the market, organizing direct procuring places, sharing difficulties with farmers. These manifest a profound social responsibility of Betrimex in its effort of accompanying with the socio-economic development of Ben Tre Province.

 

Talking about development direction in the future, Mr Duc reveals that Betrimex has a plan to build a raw material area in districts where have large areas of coconut to stabilize its manufacturing activities; promoting a network of purchasing in order to ensure a stability in manufacturing & trading in any time of the year. In addition, Betrimex is doing some research programs of market development, renewing technology, developing new products, brand promotion, restructuring production & investment framework, maximum exploiting advantages of agricultural products in the province, especially coconut based products. This direction aims to enhance effectiveness of exporting products, creating high technological valued products and stopping to export raw products, enhancing economic value of the coconut trees and bringing practical effectiveness to coconut farmers in the province.
