Thinh Phat Food Co., Ltd officially began operating in 2008, mainly involved in trading export rice of varied types. Along with its development, Thinh Phat has affirmed its position in buying and ensuring consumption of rice for farmers, won the trust of the Ben Tre provincial authority as well as local farmers, and become one of the reputable enterprises in food trading in the Mekong Delta. At present, rice products under the Thinh Phat brand are always appreciated by both national and international businesses.
Thinh Phat’s success originates from the Management Board’s appropriate investment strategy in each period. The company has always paid attention to expanding the plants, fostered innovation by replacing outdated machines with the latest technologies, and meeting development demand in the new context. Regarding brand building and development activities, Director Lam Anh Tuan said that Thinh Phat is currently an official member of Vietnam Centre of High Grade Rice Promotion (under Vietnam Food Association). Through the centre, Thinh Phat’s high grade rice has the chance to penetrate and hold on to strong markets, especially China. To gain advantages in the context of current fierce competition in terms of price and export rice quality, Thinh Phat has always seriously observed requirements of rice quality as well as introduced competitive prices, attractive package and design, timely delivery and insurance of food hygiene.
In 2011 and early months of 2012, despite many difficulties, Thinh Phat still saw stable growth in its production and trade, especially in rice harvest and export. On average, the company annually exports 40,000-45,000 tonnes rice of varied types and has managed to increase foreign markets in Africa and some Asian markets like Singapore, Hong Kong (China), Taiwan (China), Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia.
Director Tuan said that despite not having abundant material, Ben Tre is still the destination chosen by the company to invest thanks to its convenient location for transport, especially waterways. Moreover, the investment environment here is very open, with the provincial authorities’ willingness to join hands, tackle obstacles and support business development. Mr Tuan emphasized, “This is a very crucial foundation for sustainable development of Thinh Phat at present as well as in the future.”
In the four years since its foundation, Thinh Phat has proved its role and supremacy, not only well surpassing targets in production and trade, but also paying attention to social activities, which are a focus of the company’s achievements. Thinh Phat is especially concerned about how to contribute to local socio- economic development through many meaningful activities for community such as: building charity houses; donating to repayment funds; and regularly giving presents to disadvantaged households.
