Sepzone Linh Trung- Leading Joint Venture in Export Processing Zone Development

Linh Trung Export Processing Zone (EPZ) is one of the first two export processing zones in Vietnam and it is certain that it is the most successful export processing zone. Staring with Linh Trung Export Processing Zone I an initial area of 60 ha, Sepzone Linh Trung has developed three export processing zones with a total area of 326.37 ha. At present, 139 investors from 15 countries and territories are housing their projects worth US$623.75 million in three sections and generating more than 91,000 jobs.

 

Export turnover of tenants in Linh Trung EPZ has been on the steady rise over the past years and have made significant contributions to economic development in Ho Chi Minh City and in Vietnam. If the value was only US$1.4 billion in 2006, it soared to US$2.9 billion in 2010 and US$2.95 billion as of November 2011.

 

The greater success of Linh Trung EPZ is that it has given a facelift to the locality, not only generating thousands of full-time jobs for local workers but also jobs for thousands of families.

 

I think the results Linh Trung has achieved primarily come from renovation and open policies initiated by the Party and the State of Vietnam. On the other hand, the governing People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City had infrastructure construction companies to set up joint ventures with foreign partners, choose prime locations with convenient traffics to boost trade, build infrastructure and create a favourable investment environment for enterprises. Hence, the city attracted a lot of investment capital.

 

For its part, Sepzone Linh Trung, with the business slogan “we bring success to you” has made every effort to strengthen and build its efficient operating apparatus by applying quality management certificates like ISO9001:2008 quality management system and ISO14001:2004 environmental management standard.

 

We also have improved and diversified business methods. Not only providing best services and supporting investors, we have also acquired ineffective investment projects to sublease to investors with advanced technologies. Specifically, starting from the Linh Trung EPZ I, in 2010, with the support of the Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing Zones and Industrial Zones Authority (Hepza), the company took over Super Giant Company (located in Linh Trung EPZ I), a multi-year loss maker. It was subleased to Saigon Precision Company, a producer of precision products.

 

We also set stores by fostering professional knowledge and skills for our employees. Staffed by professional, dynamic, enthusiastic workforce, the company is capable of streamlining management structure, applying measures to enhance service quality for investors. As a result, the company repeatedly exceeds its profit and revenue targets.

 

We are determined to build environment-friendly Linh Trung EPZ. Hence, in 2009, the company deployed ISO9001:2008 international quality management system and ISO14001:2004 environmental management system. Currently, together with six wastewater treatment plants and water supply facilities in Linh Trung 1, Linh Trung 2 and Linh Trung 3, the company is preparing to build the seventh one. Wastewater treatment plants meet all Vietnamese and international quality standards approved by authorities. Sepzone Linh Trung also coordinates with relevant organs to inspect environmental conditions in Linh Trung EPZ to deal with violators.

 

We are also planting trees and grass along roads, even vacant areas, to ensure clean, green, beautiful and friendly environment.

 

In the coming time, we will continue promoting investment into Linh Trung EPZ 3 in Tay Ninh province. In early 2012, we signed land lease contracts with a Belgian company and a Chinese company. Some Japanese investors also registered to expand their investment projects there.
