Land Authority Popularises Int’l Experience in Amendments to Land Law 2003
The General Department of Land Administration under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment recently hosted a workshop on “International experience in amendments to the Land Law 2003.”
This is one of the important activities of the “International land management experience and solutions to complete land legal system and management tools to develop the Vietnamese real estate market” project funded by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) via Beyond the WTO (B-WTO).
With the active support of the project, the General Department of Land Administration has collaborated with relevant agencies to compile the draft of amended Land Law to submit to the Government and the National Assembly for opinions in the fourth parliamentary session meeting of the 13th term.
The workshop focused on controversial issues, including the planning and leasing of land, changing land use, evaluating and revoking land rights, compensation, support and resettlement, land registration and electronic transactions. They also suggested that Vietnam concentrate on land use and management.
The workshop was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the National Assembly Office, the State Presidential Office, the Government Office, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Provincial/Municipal Departments of Natural Resources and Environment. The function also had the attendance of sponsors and international experts from many countries such as China, South Korea, Australia and Sweden.
Discussions will be summarised and sent to the Land Law Drafting Committee for further completion.
