Vietnam Lifts Radioactive Checks on Food from Japan

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said Vietnam has ended radiation tests on fresh food imports from Japan, bringing an end to all test measures on Japanese fresh food after the Fukushima nuclear crisis in 2011. As of September, radioactive checks on fresh food from Fukushima, Ibaraki and Tochigi prefectures of Japan had been lifted.

 

Mr Yoshimasa Hayashi, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan, asked the Government of Vietnam to terminate check regulations during his visit to Vietnam in May 2013.
