Could you highlight some of the college’s significant achievements in recent years?
In the academic year 2022-2023, the college achieved exceptional training outcomes, attaining 100% of its targeted enrollment for full-time college and intermediate programs, totaling 1,200 students. The institution refined 23 subject programs, overseeing the evaluation and release of 10 textbooks expertly compiled by its lecturers. The college integrated both physical and online training methodologies.
At the Tien Giang Vocational Education Lecturers Conference, organized by the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Tien Giang College showcased its prowess with a delegation of 17 lecturers, clinching 17 individual accolades including two first prizes, four second prizes, four third prizes, and seven consolation prizes, positioning the college as the top performer among its peers.
The dedication to scholarly pursuits was evident as lecturers contributed 35 scientific products, encompassing experimental initiatives, technical innovations, articles published in specialized scientific journals, and practical teaching models approved for application.
The college implemented over 60 vocational training quality assurance processes, achieving the quality objectives communicated through its official website.
An independent accreditation agency, authorized by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, recognized the institution's commitment to excellence, granting certification valid for five-year span from 2023 to 2028.
Student outcomes echoed the success of the college, with an impressive 97% of graduates securing employment within a year of completing their studies.
Embracing the era of digital transformation, the college integrated technological advancements across all facets of its operations, including bespoke training management and trainee tracking software developed by the information technology lecturers. Additionally, the Information Technology Faculty crafted online enrollment software to streamline enrollments from the academic year 2022-2023 onward.
How has the college strategized its investments in enhancing technical facilities, improving the quality of lecturers, and innovating training programs to meet societal demands for human resources?
In recent years, Tien Giang College has invested extensively in the enhancement of technical facilities and teaching equipment. This investment has been tailored to align with the teaching requirements of 24 professions. A comprehensive overhaul of the information technology infrastructure has rendered the school environment more expansive, fostering a cleaner and conducive atmosphere for learning. The management and operation of equipment within 42 practice workshops reflect the college's commitment to scientific and effective utilization. Deploying a locally funded budget of VND2-3 billion, coupled with resources from the targeted program for vocational training development, which annually receives financing from the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs (VND3-4 billion), the college has directed these funds cutting-edge equipment and the revitalization of factories dedicated to vocational training.
The college has integrated ordered vocational training, substantial vocational internships at companies (30 days annually), and self-directed learning. This approach ensures that each lecturer not only meets but exceeds the professional expertise standards.
To date, Tien Giang College has crafted 40 training programs across three tiers: college, intermediate, and elementary, encompassing 24 occupations. It has gone a step further by releasing an impressive collection of 710 vocational teaching textbooks. Training programs and textbooks undergo biennial updates, supplements, and developments to better meet the evolving human resource requirements of society.

How has the training been tailored to meet the specific needs of localities and businesses?
Tien Giang College has been focusing on vocational training that aligns with the actual demand for human resources, contributing to local socio-economic development and business needs. This work will continue to be a priority in the coming years.
To achieve this, Tien Giang College collaborates annually with the Tien Giang Employment Service Center to survey the human resource needs of localities and businesses. This collaboration helps in formulating both short-term and long-term enrollment and training plans.
As a result, the college has fostered a close relationship with businesses, strengthened by numerous practical activities. Tien Giang College has established partnerships with 22 companies and 20 vocational training facilities to implement five key initiatives: (1) adjusting and updating training programs; (2) taking part in fostering career compassion and training soft skills for students; (3) participating in vocational training through practical activities at enterprises; (4) accepting interns; (5) receiving and employing labor resources trained by the college.
As of November 2022, Tien Giang College employed a total of 223 staff members, of which 181 were full-time lecturers. 32% of these lecturers held postgraduate qualifications. The college offers training in 24 different occupations across three levels: College, Intermediate and Elementary. Each year, it enrolls between 2,500 and 2,700 students across four main occupational groups: Economics; Engineering and Technology; Electricity and Electronics; and Culture, Arts, and Tourism. In addition, Tien Giang College also provides driver training services, offering classes for A1, A2, B, C, and D driver licenses. This program trains approximately 1,200 trainees annually. The college collaborates with southern public universities to provide training for 400 students each year. |
