SOTRANS Improves Trademark

SOTRANS is an import-export transport company in South Vietnam with 30 years experience in business. After experiencing rises, falls and the challenges of the market, the company has grown up in size and quality, gaining ever greater credibility from local and foreign clients. VIB Forum conducted an interview with Mr Tran Huy Hien (MBA), Director for International Transport of SOTRANS.
 
What have been the main achievements of SOTRANS in recent years ?
 
SOTRANS has always kept pace with the development of the market, applying suitable policy and strategy in each stage. In recent years, in particular, the company has focused on the improvement of services, increasing business efficiency and average turnover to over 30 per cent a year. Due to these achievements, the company has been awarded Labour Order Second Class on its 30th anniversary.
 
As the competition becomes fiercer and the demand of clients higher, has the company’s strategy changed?
 
In the process of economic integration, to exist and develop, each company has to develop its comparative edge. In the transport sector, the service quality is of utmost importance. The company has continued the research on the demand of the clients and found solutions to improve the services. As a result, the company could maintain the clients for decades.
 
Beside investment in products and services, the company has also focused on human resources development to meet the ever-increasing demand of the market. SOTRANS has a well-trained staff with Ph.D, M.A, and post-graduates. The company maintained stable partnership with suppliers, shipping companies and airlines. It has an advantage of storage network of over 100,000 sq. metres with good equipment. I believe that the company can meet the transport demand in the coming years.
 
How can you develop SOTRANS trademark further?
 
Unlike most other transport companies, SOTRANS has an independent Marketing Office specialised in developing the trademark. Survey and research are conducted regularly to discover the demand of each target group and even each client. Then with suitable marketing programmes, SOTRANS starts positioning as specialised supplier of the products.
 
Due to the nature of supporting service, we apply the method of direct marketing, reaching out directly to the clients. And naturally, the most important thing is the quality of the service highlighting the image of SOTRANS.
 
How can you deal with the fluctuation of the oil prices in your business activities ?
 
We have tried our best to maintain service quality and stable prices. The company serves as a cushion receiving the direct impact and reducing the pressure on the clients. Of course, we have to increase business efficiency by improving management and reducing production cost.
