Realized State Budget for Infrastructure Projects Nears US$4Bln in 2005
Vietnam is estimated to disburse VND62.93 trillion (US$3.98 billion) from the State budget for infrastructure construction for the whole year 2005, fulfilling 121.2 per cent of the annual plan, reported the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO).
Of the total disbursement, the central administration agencies spent VND24.57 trillion, equivalent to 123.5 per cent of the yearly plan, while localities managed VND38.36 trillion, or 119.8 per cent of the plan.
Among central agencies, the Ministry of Transport registered the largest disbursement with VND79.47 trillion, or fulfillment rate of 138 per cent of the whole-year target, followed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development with VND23 trillion, or 126.3 per cent.
All localities finished disbursement plan for basic construction, of which Long An Province saw the highest spending growth, surpassing 50.9 per cent over the annual plan, followed by Hung Yen exceeding 50 per cent, and Tay Ninh 38 per cent.
Meanwhile, disbursement from the State coffers in two big cities, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, reached the highest volume, with VND7.47 trillion and VND4.44 trillion, respectively.
The country earlier this year expected to spend VND52 trillion (US$3.3 billion) from the State budget on infrastructure construction.
GSO
