Recently , the Delegation of the World Craft Council visited and worked at Van Phuc silk weaving village. This is an activity within the framework of the event of displaying, demonstrating, and creating handicraft products associated with the Ceremony of receiving the two craft villages of Bat Trang ceramics and Van Phuc silk weaving as members of the World Creative Craft Cities network.

During the visit and work, the Delegation offered incense at the temple of the founder of Van Phuc silk weaving; watched the performance of intangible cultural arts: performing Hau Dong, singing Ca Tru, and Hat Xam performed by the City Cultural Center in the communal house yard.
Next, the Delegation visited the silk weaving facility of artisan Do Van Hien, specializing in creating silk patterns; the silk weaving facility of artisan Trieu Van Mao; and the dyeing facility of artisan Minh Tuyet. The delegation visited Van Phuc communal house - the place to worship the village's patron saint. Here, the delegates were introduced to the history of the communal house associated with the village's patron saint, who had the merit of recruiting people, establishing Van Bao village (now Van Phuc ward), teaching literacy, and teaching silk weaving to the people of Van Phuc.

On this occasion, the signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding on cooperation between Van Phuc (Vietnam) and Margilan province (Uzbekistan) took place with the presence of the delegates.
Van Phuc silk weaving village, Ha Dong district is one of the oldest silk weaving villages with over 1,000 years of age. The village currently has more than 200 households producing and trading silk with designs of silk, silk, brocade, etc. Van Phuc silk weaving village is recognized by the Vietnam Record Book Center as the oldest silk weaving village still in operation today.
