BCG Energy Joint Stock Company (BCG Energy) has prioritized renewable energy as its primary investment focus, seeking not only to increase corporate value but also to contribute to Vietnam’s national objectives of green energy transition, emissions reduction, and long-term sustainable energy security.
Developing key green energy projects
Guided by the vision of “Sustainable Development - Green Growth,” BCG Energy focuses on investing in clean, environmentally friendly energy projects as a long-term growth engine. The company currently holds charter capital of VND7,300 billion, shareholders’ equity above VND10,000 billion, and total assets exceeding VND20,000 billion, reflecting strong financial capacity to implement large-scale projects.

BCG Energy’s leaders discuss renewable energy investment plans with local authorities
BCG Energy has completed investment and operation of over 600 MWp of solar power, including both grid-connected and rooftop systems in industrial zones. In the wind power sector, the company is implementing projects in Ca Mau, Soc Trang, and Tra Vinh with a total capacity of 550 MW, while also studying about 1 GW of additional renewable energy projects approved under Power Development Plan VIII.
Beyond solar and wind energy, BCG Energy is a pioneer in waste-to-energy and circular energy production. The Cu Chi Waste-to-Energy Plant, with a daily waste treatment capacity of 8,000 tons and power generation of 200 MW, and the Long An Waste-to-Energy Plant, processing 1,500 tons per day and generating 30 MW, are key examples. The company is also developing similar projects in other localities, aiming to build a closed-loop waste treatment and power generation chain that contributes to Vietnam’s green growth and circular economy goals.
With its long-term vision, BCG Energy is not only an investor but also a leading builder of Vietnam’s renewable energy ecosystem.
Developing renewable energy in Dien Bien
Located in Vietnam’s far northwest, Dien Bien possesses tremendous potential for renewable energy development. Its mountainous terrain, stable solar radiation, dense river network, and abundant biomass from agriculture and forestry provide ideal conditions for establishing the province as a clean energy hub in the Northwest region.

However, the share of renewable energy in Dien Bien remains modest, primarily limited to small and medium hydropower projects, while energy demand is growing rapidly. Between 2021 and 2023, the province’s economy expanded by more than 8% annually. The strong growth of processing industries, logistics, and tourism is driving demand for stable, sustainable power supply. Therefore, renewable energy development is not only a national strategy but also an urgent necessity to ensure that “power leads the way,” creating a foundation for local socio-economic development.
Recognizing the province’s potential and regional development strategy, BCG Energy has identified Dien Bien as a key location in its clean energy investment plan. Since 2021, the company has conducted surveys in the former Dien Bien Dong district, aiming to establish a cluster of solar and wind power projects with a total capacity exceeding 1,000 MW by 2045.
BCG Energy is presently developing two wind power projects, BCG Dien Bien 1 and BCG Dien Bien 2, with a total combined capacity of 2×175 MW. These projects are planned to commence operations between 2026 and 2030 under Power Development Plan VIII. Upon completion, they will directly support the increase of Vietnam’s renewable energy share in alignment with Resolution 70-NQ/TW.
According to Pham Le Quang, Deputy General Director of BCG Energy, “Dien Bien occupies a strategic position in our clean energy development plan. We are investing not only in wind and solar power projects but also in creating a sustainable energy ecosystem that integrates transmission infrastructure and energy storage solutions. This will lay the foundation for Dien Bien to become the renewable energy hub of the Northwest region in the future.”
At the same time, the company seeks to resolve transmission infrastructure bottlenecks, one of the main obstacles to unlocking the renewable energy potential of northern mountainous areas, by developing an integrated system of power generation, transmission, and storage.
Aligning strategy with planning and socio-economic development
Under Power Development Plan VIII, the Northwest region, including Dien Bien, is receiving significant investment to upgrade its power transmission and distribution systems and connect renewable energy sources. This creates favorable conditions for BCG Energy’s projects to integrate safely into the national grid and optimize investment efficiency.
Once operational, BCG’s wind power projects in Dien Bien are expected to generate more than 900 million kWh of clean electricity annually. This will help meet the region’s rising energy demand, lower power costs, enhance investment appeal, and open new opportunities for developing green industries.
Beyond their economic value, these projects will generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs and contribute hundreds of billions of VND annually to the provincial budget. They will also promote labor restructuring and improve the quality of the local workforce.
More importantly, BCG Energy’s presence is helping to redefine Dien Bien - not only as a land of historic heritage but also as a “green energy capital,” where a proud past meets a sustainable vision for the future.
With its long-term strategy and firm commitment to sustainability, BCG Energy shows that renewable energy development is not just an investment choice but also a responsibility to the nation and the community. As these projects are carried out in a coordinated manner, Dien Bien will gain fresh momentum to become a leading renewable energy hub in the Northwest, contributing to Vietnam’s national energy security strategy and the green growth objectives outlined in Resolution 70-NQ/TW of the Politburo.
