Vietnam to Conduct Agricultural and Rural Master Survey

The Vietnamese General Statistic Office (GSO) will soon conduct a master survey of the countryside, agriculture and fisheries in 2006 inline with the GSO’s Decision No. 288/QD-TTg.

 

The survey aims to collect basic information about the aforementioned fields, which will be used to outlining socio-economic development policies and strategies until 2010 at central and local levels.

 

As scheduled, the study will focus on six major contents, including the number of households in rural areas; rural infrastructure, industrialization and modernization; current situation on farms, firms, agro-aquatic-forestry cooperatives; real production capability of fisheries; revenue structure, investment in 2005, accumulated and mobilized capitals of households in rural area; efficiency of agricultural production and assessment on sustainable development.
