Russia Starts WTO Negotiation Round with Vietnam
Russia April 1 sent its WTO mission to begin the country’s WTO negotiation round with Vietnam, local Thanh Nien newspaper reported April 2.
Maksim Medvedkov, Head of Russia’s Commercial Negotiation Department led the mission under Russia’s Economic Development Ministry, to hold talks with Vietnamese counterpart, Deputy Trade Minister Luong Van Tu in Hanoi.
Maksim Medvedkov also wonders whether the negotiation round with Vietnam will be fruitful or not, because the host raised some important issues.
Russia officially planned to carry out negotiations with Vietnam as soon as it became an official WTO member.
Russia started WTO negotiations with partners in 1994. So far, Russia completed WTO negotiations with 56 trade partners. Currently, Russia is holding negotiations with Vietnam and Cambodia. (Thanh Nien Online)
