The VAST will pour US$300 million into building hi-tech labs in the areas of bio-technology, space technology, renewable energy, electronics, and tropical technology from 2009 to 2022.
It will also inject US$100 million into the construction of Hanoi Technology University on 65 hectares in the park.
The VSAT is now one of the country’s largest agencies specializing in science and technology research with modern equipment and qualified staffs.
It includes 28 institutes, four sub-institutes, 12 state-owned enterprises, over 20 production unions and other units.
Covering an area of 1,600 hectares in northern Ha Tay province, Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park is divided into four sections: a software park, a high-tech park, an administrative and commercial center, and a research and development area. (New Hanoi)
