Central African President Starts Visit to Vietnam for Closer Ties
President Francois Bozize Yangouvonda of the Central African Republic arrived in Hanoi Monday May 18 for a five-day visit to Vietnam to deepen the bilateral cooperation particularly in economy and trade.
The trip is made at the invitation of the host president.
The two sides are scheduled to sign on the occasion a cooperative framework to facilitate the trade exchange.
The president on the afternoon of May 19 had a meeting with the President of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Mr. Vu Tien Loc.
The Central Africa Republic wants to buy foodstuff, apparels, petroleum products, machineries, auto engines, chemicals and pharmaceutical products from Vietnam.
The country, like other African nations, also hopes to directly buy rice from Vietnam rather than through the third party as currently.
The Central African president will take the occasion to seek for a tripartite cooperation of Vietnam, the Francosis community and the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC).
The Central African Republic is now taking over the rotating presidency of CEMAC.
