Vietnam H1 Exports to Taiwan Down 29% to US$385.96M
Vietnam’s goods exports to Taiwan fell by 29% on-year to US$385.96 million in the first half of this year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
Among Vietnam’s key exports to Taiwan, garments and textiles topped the list with US$105.301 million, up 8.7% on-year and making up 21.8% of the country’s total export value during the time.
It was followed by rice with US$35.579 million, seafood with US$35.344 million, machines, equipment and spare parts with US$30.808 million, paper and paper products with US$27.899 million and footwear with US$18.467 million.
Vietnam exported US$1.4 billion worth of goods to Taiwan last year while it bought US$8.3 billion of goods from the island, resulting in a trade deficit of US$6.9 billion during the year. (Vinanet)
