Citibank Starts Retail Services in Vietnam
Citibank N.A. Vietnam today opened its first retail outlet in Vietnam, demonstrating its long-term commitment to expand its operations in the Southeast Asian country, the bank said in a statement Oct 13.
The Citibank retail outlet, the first launched by a U.S. financial institution in the country, is located at Sunwah Tower in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1.
The world-class outlet will offer a wide range of savings and personal investment products targeting individuals who are in high demand for overseas transaction, including relatives of Vietnamese overseas people.
Citi’s retail banking in Asia Pacific serves over 32 million customer accounts. With Vietnam, Citi retail banking offering is now available in 14 markets with more than 600 branches and over 2,000 ATMs.
Last month, Citibank Vietnam signed a deal with Vietnam Posts to allow clients to use post offices for cash transactions. (Citibank Press Release)
