Czech Trade Mission to Visit Vietnam Next Month

A trade mission from the Czech Republic will conduct a fact-finding tour to Vietnam in November to seek more business opportunities and boost bilateral trade ties.
 
Martin Vlastnik, first economic and trade secretary of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Hanoi released the information at a press briefing in Hanoi on Oct. 19 on the occasion of the 18th Vietnam International Industrial Fair 2009 (VIIF 2009) between Oct. 20-24 with the participation of 25 Czech firms.
 
The Czech Republic always pays due attention to developing economic and trade ties with Vietnam, Jirina Zakova, a representative from the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade said at the event.
 
Vietnam tops the list of priorities in the Czech Republic’s export strategy during the 2006-2010 period, she added.
 
The two-way trade rose 14% from a year earlier to US$287 million in 2008, of which, Vietnam exported US$253 million and imported US$34 million during the year. (Vietnam Economic Times, VOV)
