New Strategy for Vietnam Cultural Diplomacy till 2020

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem recently signed a decision to ratify the Vietnam cultural diplomacy strategy until 2020, which highlights that cultural diplomacy together with economic diplomacy and political diplomacy are three pillars underscoring modern diplomacy.

 

The strategy aims to promote the international community’s understanding of Vietnam’s country, people, and culture.

 

To achieve its goals, the sector needs to strengthen theoretical background and knowledge, build and perfect mechanisms. In addition, it needs to promote training activities, ensure resources for cultural diplomacy, and build professional personnel to meet requirements in the new era.

 

In particular, the sector must combine cultural diplomacy with activities of the overseas Vietnamese community and combine cultural diplomacy with political and economic diplomacy to generate the best results.
