More Confidence, More Power

This is the feeling of businesswoman Nguyen Thi Thanh Hang, General Director of Nhat Hang Investment, Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company, after learning about the Politburo’s Resolution 09 on Vietnamese Entrepreneurs. She stressed that in the current tough context, the Politburo’s Resolution 09-NQ/TW on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the accelerating period of industrialisation, modernisation and international integration is likened to a warm flame that brightens, motivates, encourages and creates trust and power for Vietnamese business and entrepreneur forces to overcome challenges.
It is said that the Politburo’s Resolution 09 is a warming flame that powers the Vietnamese entrepreneur community to get through difficulties in 2011 and thrive from this year. What is your feeling?
2011 was a challenging year for Vietnamese enterprises and entrepreneurs. Many companies had to struggle to survive. Resolution 09-NQ/TW on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the accelerating period of industrialisation, modernisation and international integration inspired the Vietnamese business community. For the first time, a resolution of the Politburo and the Party confirmed the value of the wisdom and knowledge that businesspeople can contribute to the country to enrich themselves and sustain national growth.

The Resolution emphasizes the roles of entrepreneurs and points out strengths and weaknesses of entrepreneurs in the new era. The Party confirms continued administrative reform, support for businesses, and ironclad crackdown on abusive bureaucracy. Specially, an attention-catching content of the Resolution stresses active roles of businesspeople when it requires “facilitating businesspeople and business associations to get involved in constructing and developing industry, region and locality development.” The Resolution gives me, as well as the Vietnamese business community, more strength, courage and confidence to overcome all difficulties and challenges to devote ourselves to the society and work together to build a stronger Vietnamese economy.

What must be done to bring the resolution to life and create the best conditions for building and promoting the role of entrepreneurs? Does Nhat Hang have any relevant orientations and strategies toward this?
In this Resolution, the Politburo covers all matters of enterprises and reflects the thoughts and aspirations of the business community. It expresses respect and trust in businesspeople, creates a legal framework for them to do business to benefit themselves and the country. Backlogs caused by cumbersome administrative procedures, red tape, authoritarian behaviour and abuse of power are gradually limited and eradicated. Administrative reform and legal facilitation will give strength to businesspeople and enterprises. Businesspeople are necessarily encouraged and protected in the fight against bad conduct, corruption and waste. In addition, enterprises must strive to improve in the current context of international economic integration. More than ever, they must add good strategies development to their development roadmaps, grasp opportunities from international integration, and perfect their business administration, personnel and organisation.

When the Party, the State and the Government go hand in hand with businesspeople and enterprises, I believe that the Vietnamese economy will increasingly prosper and Vietnamese enterprises will gain a stronger foothold in domestic and international markets.

2011 was a year full of challenges for the economy, particularly the real estate market. But Nhat Hang Group still held its ground. The company strongly believes in its better future in 2012 thanks to centralised and specified investments. With its tireless effort, Nhat Hang Group will continue to grow and become a leading real estate firm in Vietnam.
