Vietnamese Firm to Invest US$249 Mln in Building 8 Power Plants

Nhan Luat Corporation, a big steel trader in Vietnam, will inject VND4.11 trillion (US$249.09 million) into eight small-and middle-sized hydropower plants in southern Dong Nai and central Quang Nam provinces, said the corp. November 18.
 
The plants with a combined capacity of 166.5 MW are expected to generate about 742.61 million kWh of power annually once fully operational.
 
Phu Tan 2 with capacity of 70 MW will be the corp.’s largest project worth VND1.75 trillion (US$106.06 million) to be located in Phu Tan commune, Dinh Quan district, Dong Nai.
 
To be kicked off in the second quarter of 2009, the plant will turn out 329 million kWh of electricity once fully operational in late second quarter of 2012.
 
The corporation targets to make total revenues of VND800 billion (US$48.48 million) this year, up VND46 billion (US$2.78 million) on-year. (Vietnam Economic Times, Young People)
