Vietnam Capital City to Need US$198M for Rural Healthcare Project By 2010

Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi is estimated to need VND3.35 trillion (US$198 million) to carry out a health project to improve healthcare for rural people from now up to 2010.
 
VND3 trillion will be sourced from the municipal budget and the rest from the districts.
 
Under the project, 95 per cent of medical stations will have doctors, and 35 per cent of rural people will gain access to clean water by 2010.
 
Hanoi is home to 13 polyclinics and 20 medical stations and up to 63.5 per cent of the capital city’s population are living in rural areas. (Urban Economy)
