Vietnam Exports to Europe Rise 9.4% to US$9.1B in Jan-Aug: Ministry

Vietnam’s exports to Europe increased 9.4% from a year earlier to US$9.1 billion in the first eight months of this year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
 
The country exported US$6.14 billion worth of goods to the European Union (EU), down 14.6% on-year while its shipments to non-EU members jumped 163% to US$2.96 billion during the time, the ministry said at a trade promotion conference in Hanoi on Oct 12.
 
In the period, Vietnam’s exports to Africa also increased 12% on-year to US$750 million, the MoIT added.
 
Meanwhile, the country experienced on-year decreases in export values to America, Asia and Oceania during the period, the ministry noted, elaborating that Vietnam earned US$1.62 billion from exports to Oceania, falling 50.1% on-year. (Vneconomy)
